Artist talk
Artist talk between artist Sophie Thun and art historian Fiona Liewehr about Thun's artistic practice, focusing on aspects of duration, interpretation, and her work with the archive of Zenta Dzividzinska.
Sophie Thun (*1985, based in Vienna) works primarily with techniques of analogue photography, its spaces, processes as well as conditions of production and exhibition. Raised in Warsaw, Thun completed her master’s degree at the Academies of Fine Art in Vienna (2017) and Cracow (2010). Thun is currently interim professor of the photography class at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.

Fiona Liewehr is an art historian, curator and writer/editor based in Vienna. She studied art history and economics in Vienna, Salzburg and Hamburg. Liewehr worked for the Belvedere, Vienna and the MUMOK Museum of Modern Art Vienna as well as a gallery director of Georg Kargl Fine Arts. Since 2021 she is artistic director of Franz Josefs Kai 3, Contemporary Art Space, Vienna. In her curatorial practice she is interested in the cross over of media and disciplines, the phenomenology of perception and expanded forms of spatial existence and conceptions as the result of social relations.
